Partnering With Government and Businesses for Naturist Beaches
Our Organization
Who We Are
B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Foundation Institute was incorporated in Florida in November 1999 and it received Internal Revenue Service 501 (c)(3) nonprofit provisional status in March 2000. The initial meeting of B.E.A.C.H.E.S.’ first Board of Governors in May 2000 was a core group of inspired and enterprising naturist activists and supporters participating in a weekend rendezvous with destiny. While the initial board was comprised primarily of members of South Florida Free Beaches and Central Florida Naturists, the current board includes representatives from a number of naturist free beach advocacy organizations in North America.
As an organization true to the naturist credo, the focus of B.E.A.C.H.E.S. is not only on the development of safe naturist (clothing-optional) opportunities at our seashores and inland waterways, but also on preserving both a sound natural and social environment at all our public beaches now and in the future. It is thus concerned with the environment, tourism, community outreach and establishing rapport and partnership with governing agencies for the improvement of public facilities.
As a foundation, this means in practical terms that any individual or corporate donations to the organization are fully tax deductible to the extent of the law. In addition, the foundation is able to secure grant funding, in-kind and cash donations from a variety of corporate, government and institutional organizations to help fund its programs and support the mission. Most importantly, it means that the foundation is working to have a 365-day per year physical presence on our endangered historic clothing-optional beaches and to establish new public sites for naturists. B.E.A.C.H.E.S. is legally recognized as a valid and purposeful organization sanctioned by the IRS to be of a nature that will give back to the communities where it operates.
Our Vision
A world where Naturists are respected for their body-positive culture, reverence for nature and protection of the environment; a world where Naturist families are free to recreate clothes-free within designated areas on public beaches and lands without fear of arrest or harassment.
Our Mission
B.E.A.C.H.E.S. stands for “Beach Education Advocates for Culture, Health, Environment and Safety.” This name showcases our priorities for public naturist (clothing-optional) beaches in the Americas. Those priorities are cultural diversity, public health, environmental conservation and beach safety. B.E.A.C.H.E.S. is a strong advocate for designated safe, well-managed, family-friendly, clothing-optional recreation supported by on-site naturist beach stewardship organizations and enterprises. It is also an advocate for equitable shared usage of beach resources by all user groups, insofar as a particular usage is not in conflict with the four priorities of the foundation. To achieve these ends, B.E.A.C.H.E.S. aims at establishing amicable and mutually beneficial working partnerships with government, business, law enforcement and the local community.
What We Do
How B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Executes its Mission
1. Work to protect, maintain and improve the physical, social and legal integrity of naturist (clothing-optional) beaches.
2. Work to create and develop new sites for clothing-optional public beaches and land use with co-management plans and enterprises on-site.
3. Work to preserve and advance the cause of Constitutional Rights, fundamental natural rights and civil liberties of people whose creed (a set of beliefs or principles) includes nonsexual social nudity, especially in appropriate natural settings.
4. Work to educate for the good reputation, health, safety, welfare and morals of individuals and families who freely choose to practice this age-old custom and creed.
5. Work to promote activities, establish enterprises and programs in environments conducive to recreational social nudity.
6. Work to establish a working, amicable partnership between government and citizens for responsible management and maintenance of designated clothing-optional public land areas throughout the Americas in order to see these areas become safe, clean and secure havens for the benefit of the recreating public.
7. Work to assist individuals as well as public and private entities in establishing safe and harmonious conditions and access for the public at existing traditional clothing-optional areas and facilitate the creation of new areas.
