Haulover Beach Park projects executed by B.E.A.C.H.E.S. Foundation with funding from donations and a Miami-Dade Park Department capital improvement grant –
PROJECTS

ELECTRIC BEACH WHEELCHAIRS
Note: Not currently available; we were recently notified by the Parks Department ADA director that the most popular M-D beachside park (Haulover) did not have the personnel to manage the chairs. A proposal by B.E.A.C.H.E.S. to take over management of the chairs was rejected. We have been told the chairs will be moved to another park.
November 2007
BEACHSIDE SHOWERS – phase 1
A shower station on the naturist beach allows visitors to rinse off before dressing & entering the clothing-required section of the park.
A proposed second shower station has been delayed indefinitely due to lack of funding.
CHICKEE HUT SHELTERS
Three chickee hut shelters have been erected on the beach. The huts provide welcome shelter on the unshaded beach and are also used to host special events.

PROGRAM PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH MIAMI-DADE PARKS DEPT.
In 2005, B.E.A.C.H.E.S. obtained a five-year Program Partner agreement from the county as a nonprofit community organization.
Our Beach Mall helps defray the costs of the foundation’s mission, provides healthy fruit and frozen fruit drink alternatives for beach visitors, and provides a base for naturist education and the activities of the Beach Ambassadors.

BEACH AMBASSADORS
Volunteer Beach Ambassadors are recruited by B.E.A.C.H.E.S.’ Chapter South Florida Free Beaches/Florida Naturist Association.
